I have had the good fortune to direct new plays, collaborating with playwrights – like my good friend, Susan Steadman, the author of What Doesn’t Kill Me. We began the Not-For-Profit Outrageous Pelican Production Company in Wilmington, NC, which is dedicated to providing opportunities for women as directors, performers, and theater practitioners of every kind.
Because of my classical training at the Juilliard School, I have a special affinity for and understanding of the classics, bringing to life the most minute detail from everyday life. I enjoy exploring how even though setting and time may change, human desires and behavior remain the same.
I was a founding member of The Oasis Theatre Company in Los Angeles. Over the years have worked as a fundraiser, producer, performer, administrator and director and I have explored all of the pitfalls and rewards of operating a theatre company. For over fifteen years Oasis enjoyed the opportunity of bringing the Classics to a modern audience in very unique venues – including parks, a Victorian style home, the beach, black box theaters, and the 1200 seat theater at the Los Angeles Performing Arts Center.
I am currently looking for my next creative project in professional theaters across the United States and abroad.
